The Perkins Loan Program has expired. New loans are not available at this time.
The Perkins Loan Program is the oldest federally supported student aid program. The program offers low interest rates to students with exceptional financial need (as determined by the results of the FAFSA) at higher education institutions through campus revolving funds. As loans are repaid the funds become available for other students. The loans are awarded by the Financial Aid Office, with California Baptist University acting as the lender. No interest accrues while the student is enrolled at least half-time and repayment begins nine months after graduating, leaving school, or dropping below half-time enrollment.
Students who have been awarded a Federal Perkins Loan for a specific academic year are required to complete and submit the following documents to the Financial Aid Office :
1. CBU Perkins Loan Application
2. Perkins Loan Entrance Interview
3. Federal Perkins Loan Master Promissory Note
4. Statement of Funds Borrowed
The proceeds of the loan will be disbursed on a term-by-term basis and applied to the student account along with other student aid disbursements.
